Checking in

Hi everyone! I know I've been absent for a few weeks. I'm sorry. There are plenty of other great blogs listed on the right side of this page - enjoy them!

I have been sewing, but it's been slow progress and I don't want to share it just yet. Or talk about it. My fingers are full of pin-pricks from all the hand sewing.

It will be a week or so before you hear from me again, so please just imagine me enjoying the beautiful island of Efate in Vanuatu. Here are some pictures from my last trip there, if it will help!

Have you got any holiday plans? Or a staycation, maybe?

    1. Good time of year to be in front of a fire with a book, if you can't make a tropical escape :-)

Upon my return, there shall be pictures aplenty!

  2. I am jealous! Our honeymoon was in Vanuatu, back in the early 80's. We stayed at the La Lagon resort, before Vanuatu was struck by a cyclone. Have a cocktail in a coconut shell for me at dusk...and enjoy...J

    1. Oh wow! I would love to know how the place has changed. I learned a little about the history last time, and the whole place is just fascinating.

I will certainly do my best to have one of those cocktails, thanks Judith ;-)

    1. We planned it to be around mid-winter just to escape the worst of Auckland weather! One of our finer holiday ideas, I will agree.

Can't wait to share my pictures with all of you!

  4. I was wondering what had happened to you. Something nice :), which I am pleased about.

Fingers can get mighty sore with needle holes - I never find thimbles help, they get in the way - share when you are ready, looking forward to the big reveal :)

    1. I've never found a thimble that works for me either. And I am just generally clumsy, which makes me a danger when I've got a needle in my hands!

Looking forward to sharing my photos in the near future :-)

    2. I just bought a silicone thimble at Sydney's Craft and Quilt show. I had not seen silicone thimbles before but it is very comfortable. I can't remember who makes them, only that they were imported from Germany.
