Work to live, don't live to work...
What are you planning on replacing the tiger print with?
That is just one of the many, many questions I have for myself ;-)I wanted velvet because it feels nice. But teh internetz tells me that it is difficult to work with. Then I went to Spotlight to get ideas. I did not anticipate upholstery fabric costing upwards of $30/m (I don't know how much I thought it would be). I think I will need at least four metres. So I will go to Ike's (discount fabric store) and see what they have. If it looks good, but is crappy quality, that's fine. I'll just think of it as my rough draft, and recover it with something better quality when it fails.I may be over-ambitious taking on this project!
Y'know, I've never done any upholsering per se, but I have done a lot of sewing with upholstery velvet for costumes. It's not so difficult to work with, and the wear factor is HUGE - 50,000 rubs or something crazy like that. If I ever have the money to make a velvet something, I'll be choosing the upholstery velvet because it it so much more velvet-y than fashion velvet. I'm sorry you're replacing the animal print, though..... I love animal prints in decor!
