Oysters a la Kat

I made this recipe up. Don't I always?

Clevedon oysters were on special, but I didn't want to eat them natural. Normally, that's how I like them. But for some reason it felt strange to eat natural oysters on my own. Didn't want the aphrodisiac effect all on my lonesome, perhaps? Hahahahaha!


  • Grainy bread
  • Tomato paste
  • Torn fresh basil leaves
  • Sliced corned beef
  • Oysters
  • Camembert
  • Cracked pepper that order.

Nom nom nom.
Pretty flash for a 'meal for one', hey?


  1. I'm too scared to cook seafood. It's the big fat "unknown" to me. Although, our little cooking class in Thailand gave me a little more confidence with prawns...

    i made rice paper rolls and little asian beef rolls for dinner tonight. i look forward to devouring them.

  3. Cooked oysters are less scary than raw ones, Meegs...

    Ness, the most unsafe thing about seafood is if it's half cooked. If it's hot all the way through, it should be fine - better to be overcooked than under. I figure if something is on special, it's worth experimenting with!

    I have to say, these ones weren't as nice as Bluff oysters natural, but still pretty good :-)

  4. Oysters! I was just wondering what to have for dinner, & you've just given me the answer! I'm thinking raw with a little bloody mary mix. I also feel like some chips too, funnily enough...

  5. Fabulous! I won't lie... I thought about the bloody mary mix - but it seemed a little *too* indulgent to eat on my own mid-week!
