Why I love my countries - both of them

People often focus on why Australia is better than New Zealand, or vice versa. I can't be bothered with that.

I have my moments where I wish I was home in Melbourne - sometimes the feeling smacks me over the head like a cast iron frying pan. Of course, there are other times where I'm glad that I'm here in Auckland. So here is my list of 10 good reasons to love either country.

What's to love about Australia?
  1. Hot hot summers
  2. Fabulous shopping at reasonable prices
  3. My family
  4. Old mates
  5. Vibrant art and culture in the city
  6. Eucalyptus scent in the hot, dry air
  7. Driving for days and still not being at the other end of the island
  8. Chocolate Ripple cake
  9. Crazy wildlife, and the delicious taste of a kangaroo steak
  10. Endless job opportunities and good dollar conversion
And how about New Zealand?
  1. Chris
  2. Tip Top Icecream
  3. My family
  4. Cheap housing
  5. The Warehouse
  6. Living like a queen on a salary that looks crap in Australian dollars
  7. Can drive from one end of the island to another all in one day
  8. The lack of poisonous wildlife and flies
  9. Amazing and diverse landscapes within a short drive of everywhere
  10. Volcanoes!
Don't forget to have a listen to this traditional Kiwi folk song.
As well as this Australian one.
